What are the benefits of Dental Monitoring?

How does Dental Monitoring work?

To start tracking your treatment progress from home, you will need to download the easy to use Dental Monitoring app on your smartphone. We are happy to help if you need it!

We show you how to use the ScanBox and app to send accurate scans of your smile from home. Your personalised treatment plan will include a regular schedule for uploading the images you take so we can assess them and make sure everything is staying on track.

If needed, we will contact you through the Dental Monitoring app, giving you feedback and advice without the need for you to make the trip to the practice. We can also tell when you would benefit from seeing us in person, and arrange an appointment quickly, but this is far less frequent with the advanced Dental Monitoring system.

Your Questions Answered

Do I need a smartphone to be able to use Dental Monitoring?
Yes, to take images with the ScanBox and successfully send them to your dentist, you need a smartphone and the ability to download the Dental Monitoring app.
What happens if I am not at home when I need to scan my teeth?
Dental Monitoring can be used wherever you are in the world! If you are going on holiday or will be in a different location to home when you are due to take your next scan, simply take your ScanBox with you and enjoy the beauty of remote monitoring.
Can I still speak to my dentist about my treatment?
Yes, absolutely! We encourage you to talk to us if you have any questions, concerns or are in need of some advice to do with your treatment or the remote monitoring. You don’t have to wait until your next in-person appointment, as you can simply call the practice if you need to.
Will I have any in-person appointments?
Yes, we will still see you for appointments in the practice throughout your treatment. The Dental Monitoring system reduces the need for unnecessary visits as we can keep a close eye on your treatment progress remotely and see you in person when we need to.
What should I do if I am struggling with taking my scans?
When we give you your ScanBox, we take the time to show you how to use it and give you relevant advice. If you are having trouble with using the box or app correctly, please get in touch and let us know. We are happy to help, and may see you in the practice to show you how to use the system if you prefer.
What happens if I forget to scan on time?
It is best for your treatment progress if you can stick to your bespoke scanning schedule and make the effort to scan on time. However, if you miss a scan by a day or two, don’t panic! Scan your teeth as soon as you remember and upload in the normal way. We can then provide advice and support.
