What are Veneers and Crowns?

Veneers are usually porcelain coverings applied to the front surfaces of existing chipped, stained or crooked teeth to produce a beautiful smile without excessive adjustment of the teeth. They are like acrylic/gel nail coverings many women wear but are permanently cemented to the teeth. They are custom made to the correct shape and colour to produce a natural, life-like, glowing smile.

A Dental Crown, also known as a ‘cap’, is like a veneer but covers the inner and outer surfaces of the tooth. It fully wraps around the tooth offering a very strong covering that protects from fracture and restores very heavily broken teeth. Crowns can provide an excellent cosmetic option for teeth and are especially good for teeth that are severely discoloured or an irregular shape or size.

What are the benefits of crowns and veneers?

Crowns can protect and greatly extend the life of teeth that would otherwise be prone to fracture and break without the possibility of repair. Depending on the material used to produce the crown, they can look extremely life like, to the extent that it is impossible to tell which tooth or teeth have been restored with crowns.

Crowns and veneers can be used with or without other treatments to produce beautiful radiant smiles as part of our smile make-over treatment.

It is sometimes impossible to correct all problems with one type of treatment. For example, orthodontic treatment can correct the position of teeth but cannot alter the shape or colour. In such cases veneers and crowns can produce a glowing smile with minimal tooth preparation using veneers and/or crowns.

What is involved?

The first step involves a full assessment. We need to find out what you hope to achieve from the treatment, and if there are any special considerations such as maintaining certain characteristics or working towards a certain event like a wedding or the start of a new job.

We would then collect as much information as we can for the proper planning of each individual case. This would normally involve taking pictures, bite registrations, impressions and x-rays of the teeth to check the general health of the mouth and teeth and plan how we would like the restored teeth to look.

We will then take our time to discuss the options available to you, or even a combination of options, such as orthodontics and tooth whitening in conjunction with crowns/veneers. You will then have time to think about which options suit you best when considering the time, costs and desired outcomes.

Once you are happy with the treatment plan and have chosen your convenient payment option, we will be able to swiftly proceed with the treatment and achieving the beautiful smile you desire.

0% Finance Options Available!

We know that Dental Implant treatment can be expensive, which is why we are pleased to offer flexible payment options to help spread the cost.
